Wing Root Fairings

(Dec 14, 2025) The wing root fairings make a definite improvement to the look of the plane, not just covering the gap between the fuselage and wing! I followed the KAI instructions on where to drill holes and will need to go back to install a bunch of rivnuts.

For some reason the starboard fairing was made differently than the port fairing, I had to make my own cutouts for the landing gear leg and wing step. So the first step was copying these features over from the port side fairing, mostly just eyeballing it since it’s hard to get any kind of precise measurement on where to cut.

Cutting the landing gear cutout for the starboard fairing
Marking off where to cut the wing step slot
Holes drilled and temporarily attached with clecos
