Moving Day!

(July 3, 2025) The beginning of July was my goal for getting the Shineliner over to the airport, and I hit that goal! For the next few months the plane will be at Fitchburg Municipal Airport in Massachusetts, which is about 25 mins away from my house.

I used a local towing company to transport the plane, Kinney’s Towing of Amherst NH. TJ, the tow driver operator, was awesome with making sure my plane was secure. He mentioned that he’s been in the biz for 4 years and transporting a plane was top of his list for cool jobs he wanted.

I decided not to move the wings just yet as I had a few more tasks to complete. I’ll move the wings in a box truck on their cradle.

We used standard ratcheting straps on the main landing gear for primary support, plus the winch strap wrapped around the nose gear and another strap on the tail tie-down point, so it was fully secure at all 4 corners.

The trip down to the airport was fun. There were a lot of curious bystanders and drivers, turning theirs heads as we drove by!

Getting ready to be loaded
Steering with a tow bar
Strapped down and ready to roll
Arriving at KFIT
All settled in at the hangar
