Canopy Door Pockets and Latch Switches

When I designed the overhead panel lights, I included an input to sense the state of the door latches. This is to allow the cabin lights to turn on when the door is opened, and also to display a waring message on the lighting control panel as a reminder that the door is not secure. The sensor is a snap action switch that is closed when the forward latch hook is in the locked position. The sensor fits over the door latch catch, and is secured with screws going to two new rivnuts flanking either side of the door latch catch.

I also took this opportunity to install the door storage pockets, which also require additional rivnuts to be installed in the same general area.

The sidewall panels also needed a little notch to accommodate the latch reinforcement plate; to accomplish this, I peeled back the vinyl from the sidewall panel, cut off some of the fiberglass core with a nibbler, then re-glued the vinyl over the notch.
